FREE Student Mentoring and Awards

In collaboration with the ASA Princeton Chapter and ASA Biopharmaceutical Section, this working group launches the NextGen SDS (Statistics & Data Science) program providing FREE mentoring to students in statistics and data science (undergraduate and graduate) aimed at education and drawing interests in SDS field through solving real-world statistical problems. The WG has limited capacity to mentor, so if you are interested in participating, please contact us for background assessment and interview. Students should have existing programming skills such as Python, R, or C++ and have taken at least the introductory statistics course. All mentors are volunteer members of IDSWG Oncology.

The mentoring program will take place over the summer starting from mid May, with further followup effort for wrapping up and publishing. All student research projects will be made publicly available through publication and/or presentations at statistics and data science conferences and the working platform is through the public repository Github. Outstanding projects will be recognized with Student Research Awards.
